A Honey Yard

We sell The Martha Carpenter Mite Mauler queen stock,

ccd/mite resistant Italian queens developed by the allogrooming survival method,
That do not destroy brood by removing it as VSH bees do.

A Mite resistant Queen lessens the need for chemical mite controls

resulting in money saved and a healthier chemical free colony

We have used no Varroa treatment since spring of 2005

We also sell natural honey, which is never pasteurized, nor pressure filtered.

Carpenter's
This frame of honey, above, is about to be extracted. You can see the quality, and almost taste it!

The honey is extracted and bottled by us in minor batches,

that way you know that it is wholesome, natural, and handled with care.

Our queens are also limited in quantity so when they are sold, we are all out.

Carpenter’s Apiary is a small-scale, high-quality operation.

The honey and queens are produced and cared for in small lots.

I have been keeping bees since 1955 . I am now retired,  I do this because I enjoy it and want to produce an excellent product.

Carpenter’s Apiary was established in 1868 . We were a migratory apiary with 2000 hives of bees, which we moved to and from New York, North and South Dakota, Iowa and Florida.

I started raising survival Queens by not using pest strips and by checking test boards for mites that have been pinched and killed by the bees during the grooming process (allogrooming).

Honey is also available and is of the highest quality. We guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Because of weather extremes, we suspend our queen operation from November until January.
